brolly good show.

friggin rain almost stopped play. But it could only be in england , when brolly holding welly wearing , short sporting couples stand outside, in the rain to hear bands they have never heard of.
Seriously though, what a friggin shame, the organisers had planned a top event, great guests, great venue, top idea, brilliant quality, but you can't guarantee the weather.

There were maybe a couple of hundred people around the place, lots huddled inside the catering tents, roll on next year!!!!
By the way FUN DA MENTAL rock!!!!

Umbrellas and wellies were the order of the day for many, but three big events still pulled in the crowds at the weekend.

The colourful World Peepul concert, at Cossington Street Recreation Ground, boasted music from around the globe.

It featured seven hours of live entertainment by musicians from as far away as Madagascar and South America, while visitors got to taste food from all over the world.

A giant TV screen showed clips and songs from Bollywood films of the past five decades.

The event was hosted by BBC Asian Network's Adil Ray. Performers included La Sonera Calaveras, Najma Akhtar, Harare Dread and Fun Da Mental.

Pawlet Warner, artistic director, said: "We tried to put on something that reflected the make-up of Leicester to give people a day of great entertainment.

"People really got into the different sorts of music from across the world and it was all a great success. We'd like to make it an annual event."

Zabine Sandhu, 34, of Leicester, said: "The music was great because it was so different. It's not the sort of thing you get to hear every day."

Daughter Yasmine, six, said: "I liked getting my face painted and the food.
